Still Standing...and holding a freebie for you!

Whew!
We have moved, we are getting unpacked, we have internet (after only 3 days of tech support to fix an issue that could have been fixed in .02 seconds if they had listened to me the first time I called) and I have a new kit in the store.
It is called "Still Standing" because I can't believe I still am after all the loading, unloading, arguing, and one ridiculous night at a local bar. (It was for a good cause, I swear...LOL) It has 12 papers, 2 full alphas, a couple of beaded ribbons I am particularly pleased with, and lots of other stuff. It is black, blue, textured, and sparkly, and it can be yours for only $5.00! (Or you could wait until Friday and get it for 30% off...hint hint)

I made this glittered construction paper alpha for a project I was working on. It isn't anything that hasn't been done before, but I think the colors are cute and someone might be able to use it, so I am sharing it with youDownload it HERE and enjoy!

Introducing my Inner Child

Hi! Remember Me?
Probably not, since I promised you a freebie several days ago, and it's taken me until now to get it out to you...LOL
First things first, I contributed a nice little part of this month's MegaKit at DigiScrapShak, and you should totally pick this one up. It is HUGE, and the colors are so soft and cozy, it's like a nice fuzzy sweater. Here's a peek:

Now, what you've been waiting for.....
This is my Inner Child kit. It is fun and sparkly and fabulous, the perfect kit for scrapping yourself acting like a kid, which I do frequently. It has 7 papers, an uppercase alpha, and a bunch of fun elements, and you can get it free, right here, for a very limited time (after 1/13/08 it will go into the store for $5.00. )
BTW, If you scrap something with it, I would love to see it.
Links are under the pics, Enjoy!

New stuff at DSS and a preview of whats to come for you!

I finally finished up the kit I started before my "holiday break" and it went onto the store yesterday. It's called "Amie's Room". I named it after my cousin Amie, who is so into the shabby chic thing, and had requested a kit with that same feel.

I am almost done with my next kit, which will be a freebie here for a very limited time before it goes into the store. It should appear here in a day or two, but for now here's a little teaser:

See you soon!

Freebies! ....but not here

I know you are probably jonesing for a freebie or two, since it's after the holidays, and who doesn't need something free? LOL
I took a little break for the holidays, and will be back soon with something fabulous for you, but until then, here's some fun stuff for you:

The kit you get is simply stunning, and the color combo is awesome! I can't wait to see you there!

Alter Your History With This Freebie

Good Morning!

I just put the finishing touches on a new kit and uploaded it to the store, where it will be appearing shortly. It's called Altered History and it is designed to give your LO that "Altered Art" look that you see a lot of on ATCs and the like. It's a huge kit too, 10 papers, an alpha, and a ton of elements, so go check it out!

I even made a LO with it, to make sure it was "usable":

I also have a little something for you today. Even though the new kit is not Christmas kit, I was overcome with holiday spirit and just had to make a few Christmas-y elements from it, so I thought I'd share them with you. Enjoy!

DOWNLOAD HERE

P.S. I will have whole free kits for you again soon, I have just been busting my rump to get my store built up and it's way more time-consuming that I thought it would be, so please bear with me!

I'm an invalid and it's fabulous...LOL

You know how sometimes a bad thing turns out to be fabulous?
As I was falling down the steps of my front porch yesterday, wrenching my already wonky knee, and bruising my hiney, I never thought it would turn out to be fabulous. As a matter of fact, I was pretty much positive that it was the end of life as we know it. LOL
Turns out, since all I can do is sit at the computer desk, I get a lot of stuff done, and no one in the family can complain about it because I am injured and can't be up and around fulfilling their myriad of needs. So I not only have a new kit to go into the Shak, I have a little freebie for you too. It's not a whole kit, but it's better than nothing, don't ya think? I should have a kit for you pretty soon though, since I will have a bunch of downtime while the knee heals enough that I can get myself to some other room of the house.

Anyway, here's the newest kit to hit the store, it's called Smarty Pants and should be available soon:
And here is your freebie. It's 5 homemade paper snowflakes like the ones you made as a kid, but with a little sparkle added for extra fabulosity. Enjoy!

Hacked By Death

So, imagine my surprise when I clicked the link to show my cousin my blog, and Blogger kindly told me it no longer existed.....hmmm.
When I clicked the "view" link in my dashboard, it pointed to my blog, sort of. All the stuff was still there, but the web address had been changed to "hackedbydeath" at blogspot.com.
What in the world was the point of that? It took me 2 minutes to change my password and re-name the page. There isn't any personal info on here for anyone. It doesn't point anywhere important, like paypal or banking or whatever. All it did was cause me 2 seconds of irritation. I'd love to know what genius thought that one up, someone should give them a button or something...LOL
Anyway, if you noticed I was gone, I'm back, and if you didn't I imagine you are not alone.
Watch here for more freebie action soon!
Ciao

New kit in the store!

Hey!
Sorry I haven't been around much, I've had a houseful of kids for the last week, which means I had all kinds of fun, but got no work done at all. I have a freebie kit in the works for you that will be up soon, and I just sent these in to the store tonight, so they will be up in a few days or so.
Go check them out!

Have a Great Day!

A Gift For You

I know, 2 things in 24 hours, what was I thinking?
Really, I just wanted to say thanks again for all the support you have given me since I started this entire designing journey. As a gift, I have made you some holiday card quick pages, and they're S4O so you can use them to make your own printed cards to give away or sell, as long as you follow the TOU that's included in the zip.
These were all made with the Holiday Elegance kit and Holiday Elegance Color Kit, both of which will be available soon at DigiScrapShak.com. I do have to give special thanks to Atomic Cupcake, for her actions, without which I couldn't have done it

Enjoy, And Have A FABULOUS Holiday Season!

Monday, November 19, 2007

Finally!

I finally have a freebie for you!
I know it's hard to believe, since I have only been promising it to you for a year and a day now...LOL
I will have a new kit in the store soon too. It's called Holiday Elegance and it's all silver and gold glittery fabulosity. I also made a separate kit of elements and overlays in 3 colors, that will add a little pop to the kit. I know it will be in there by Friday, just in time for the big "Black Friday" sale!

I should have some Christmas Card Quick pages that I made for you with it here in a couple of days, now that things have settled down enough to get them finished.

And now onto the freebie...
This is a little kit for the boys. I had a terrible time wrapping my head around this one. You would think, that as a mother of a boy, I'd be all over it, but it was a toughy for me.
It has 5 papers, 4 word buttons, 2 stars, 2 rub on word arts, 2 frames, a swirl, a tag, 3 ribbons and a varsity-letter alphabet.
Enjoy!

I Know, I know!

I am late with your boy kit, but I really do have a good reason....
my DH got me an Atomic Cupcake subscription for my birthday, and I can do so many cool things with the actions, that I decided to add some fab stuff to the kit, but then my SIL decided that I needed to have 3 of her 4 kids for my entire birthday/anniversary weekend so I have had NO time to be on th computer at all. She is picking up the kids tonight at 8pm, so hopefully I will be able to get this kit zipped up for you and ready to go by tomorrow morning.
Can you ever forgive me????

Dum Dee Dum Dum! Ta Da!

I have accepted a designer position at ...

...wait for it....

I am so excited to start this new endeavor, and to be able to share it with all of you who rooted me on and helped me grow into the type of designer who gets offered designer positions!
I have to give a special High Five, Thumbs Up, Hugs, and a big box of Gratitude to Ilona Havenaar, who gave DSS the heads up about me. absolutely none of this would have happened without her. She is a fab designer, and you can find her kits HERE, so go show her some love from the bottom of my heart! LOL
I am moving the ToughFluff kit to my store, so it's no longer available as a freebie :(. I will probably move a couple of the older kits over as well, but I would rather get some new stuff going, instead of re-organizing those freebies for sale...LOL...it's actually simpler to just make a new kit, then to re-furbish the older ones to get them shop ready.
They are getting me setup as we speak, so hopefully by late tonight or early tomorrow, I will be all ready to go, and I'll post a link to my stuff then too.
Well, wish me luck, and check back here in a few days to see what kinds of goodies I'll have for you, both here and in my shop!

A Big Announcement, and a little one too!

Well, The little announcement is that many of my kits are going to be unavailable as freebies after today. I hope everyone got a chance to check them out, because as of tomorrow, they will be going in my Shop at an (as yet undisclosed) STORE!!!!
It's been in the works for a minute, and I don't want to give it away until they make their official announcement, but it's kind of (totally!!!) awesome!
Don't be sad though, I will still be giving away plenty of stuff here, and even better stuff. It just won't be at the same pace as before while I am getting my stuff together for the store!
I hope you don't hate me for "going commercial" but it is really exciting for me, and I can't wait to share this adventure with you all. I couldn't have done it without you, it was you guys tooting my horn that got me the offer, and I'll have a little goodie to say thanks to you soon. I also still have that promised boy-themed kit on the burner that will turn up here towards the end of the week, once I get settled in at the new digs.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! YOU GUYS ROCK!

New Look, New Kit

First things first...Thank you all for leaving such wonderful comments about my last kit. I am happy that it made such an impact on some of you, and that it helped shed some light on the subject, and I hope it helps someone, somewhere.

So, I updated the page a little. I just figured it was time to showcase my own stuff in the page topper. Speaking of the page topper, it shows off the monogram alpha from my brand new kit, Tough Fluff. I know, more pink, sparkly stuff. I like pink sparkly stuff, plus, I wanted to do a boy kit, I really did, but I just couldn't wrap my head around it at the time. (I did get one started, finally, so it might be next.) This one's more for the teenage girls, or those that still want to be teenagers...LOL. I drew and scanned in the swirl and the notepaper word art, and the page border frame resizes really nice down to a photo frame. The alpha is big, because I figured it would get used more as a monogram type thing than a regular alpha, but it resizes down nicely too.
Here's a preview for you.....
Sorry, this kit is no longer available as a freebie, but you can find it at digiscrapshack.com

Also, I've gotten a few BEAUTIFUL layout from you guys, and I am so happy to get to show them off!
The first one is by Shell:
This one is from Geri:
Here's a pretty one by Betty:And here's is one I thought was a fabulous idea,
Thanks to you too Patricia!
Thanks to everyone who shared their great layouts, enjoy the new kit!!!

Woo Hoo!

Ikea Goddess listed my "A Fearless Life" kit today, I'm so excited!!!

A Fearless Life

What's this? 2 kits in less than a week? Yes, it's totally true! (and I already have another one in the works!)
I was actually working on this one to give myself a break from all the pink in the holiday kit, and also because I really wanted to get it done before Nov. 1, since October was National Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. Well, no mind, I guess the thought still counts...right?
I am a survivor of domestic abuse
I didn't let him do it for very long, and I don't recommend getting out of it the way I did to everybody, but it shouldn't have happened at all.
I am also the daughter, niece, cousin, sister-in-law, and best friend of survivors if that gives you any idea how widespread this really is.
Anyway, here is my kit, dedicated to all of us who have survived and to all of you who are still living in fear. It is my wish for all of us to live A Fearless Life. I tried not to pigeonhole it too much, so it can be used for any occasion where courage has been shown.

If it is in your means to do so, consider making a donation to your local battered women's shelter, or help someone move out of a home where an abuser lives, or buy someone a secret cellphone, or whatever. There are a thousand ways to help. Even if the victim isn't ready to run (or fight back), you can help her stay safe-er in the meantime.
Here is a layout with my story, using the kit:

And here is a gorgeous layout by Angie F. that she sent me for the Addon Challenge, using the Winternight kit:Have a great night!

Wow! You guys made some seriously awesome layouts with my kits!!
I enjoyed seeing them so much. Here they are for everyone to admire:

And now the Freebie you were waiting for!!!

This kit turned into a monster! It has 12 papers, a full alpha with numbers and punctuation in both patterns, 3 word Ovals, 3 frames, 4 rub-on snowflakes, 2 buttons plus a stitch, 5 bows, 2 garland borders, 3 ribbon ties, 6 ribbons, 1 journal tag, 5 chip charms, 1 word art, 3 stitches, and 4 swirls, and a glittery grid overlay. Everything is in shades of pink, burgundy and silver and there is a winter/holiday theme throughout, although parts of it could be used for Valentines or Love themed pages. It's a little over a GB altogether so I split it into 3 parts for you. Check it out:

Enjoy!

Recognition

I was really excited yesterday to drop into Our Little Scrap World and see my Autumn Jewels freebie listed. She has a great page, even if she only freebie hunts part-time now.
Okay, I'm back to work on this (slowly becoming a) mega-kit.

A couple of things....

Well, I have a new kit in the works, and almost finished, but they have called me into work this week, so it will be Sunday or Monday before I can get it all ready for you. I work for a temp agency, but mostly for just one place (as a cater waiter) and apparently there is a lot going on in the catering world this week, or someone is sick, or whatever. Anyway, it's going to be a doozy of a kit, with a holiday flavor, but hardly traditional, and I think you might love it.
Also, as far as the challenge kit goes.... Yes, lots of people have downloaded it, but it is in a password protected zip-file, so they can't open it afterward. I have gotten a few comments regarding the fact that people were "stealing" it, or getting the password , but that simply isn't the case. I just can't figure out why someone would DL it if they couldn't open it. Maybe they weren't paying attention...LOL. I did have a couple of actual entrants and I will post their LO here when I put up the new kit. The LO's were fab, and I can't wait to show them off
See you then!
